Tears of Joy

There's so much stuff that we see everyday.  Facebook and other social media constantly show us things.  Some are insightful and enlightening while others are funny or silly.  And then sometimes you find those gems that just shine.  The ones that touch the soul and remind us that perspective truly can change the world.

I watched this and it brought tears to my eyes.  Compassion goes so much further than the few seconds it takes to give that compassion.

Random Acts of Kindness

I've been going through some rough times.  Dealing with my chronic pain can sometimes be very trying.  My coworker this morning was so sweet.  She gave me a little note with a couple small gifts.  Things like this too often go unnoticed.  I'm so grateful for these type of moments.

I ended up falling asleep very early (for me) since I had not gotten any sleep the night before.  I woke up a little early and was pleasantly surprised to have a text from my girlfriend:

"-lays on you- I like passed out.  Odd feeling of exhaustion.  I hope you sleep well and dream pleasent thoughts my darling.  May you wake feeling better than today" (Tues 11:37PM)

Waking up and seeing this made me smile.  These moments fill me with joy.  I want to remember them so that I know how rich an wonderful my life truly is.

Happy Cats

I came home from work to my kitties all snuggled on my bed.

Sophie, Luna & Zen all keeping warm on the blanket I got from my family for Yule.  This is always worth a smile and some happiness.

Unable to sleep...

In an effort to help sleep I wrote this poem:

Reaching Serenity

The spoken serenity of Time’s
ticking arrow lingers to fault
yet, not as always, seconds pass
and my respite is unanswered
languishing in the mindless numbing
of the ever so hopeful prayers
meditations to sooth and quell
ease the restless and clam the soul
My whole universe shakes & quivers
Unable to channel the driving force
Racing heart only to hinder efforts made
This attach of trembling veins
holds me transfixed and
unable to sleep.
Oh the quandary of my mind
riddles the methods reigned
Yet none seems able to tame
my body’s feral rage
What am I to do?
With Dawn’s waking hour
approaching every second closer
The time of rest dwindles
like water lost in sand
Last prayers and efforts made
I let loose my words
Ever powered by pen & paper
Hear my battle taled
A mighty struggle
Waged within oneself, myself
And how does the story end
well that is the power bestowed
to the mightiest of weapons
Here is where my tale peaks
turning and facing demons
Pulling all strength
And vitality around
each pen stroke soothes the next
each heart beat a touch slower
All the Fibers of body move
to more harmonious a tune
Calming soul & body together
The poet truly now was able to rest
Laying her head down
with eyes closed
Serenity swept over and sleep overcame

Though the out come was not what I predicted in my poem, it is still beautiful work.

Not feeling well...

So I'm feeling pretty icky, but never fear, Sophie is here:

She's all snuggled up on my chest and purring.  Hopefully her healing purrs will have me feeling better very soon!

Silly Cat

How can you not enjoy this:

Saffron sleeping...

I swear she's just sleeping...

...yet that face...

She woke up...

She's such a sweetie.  I couldn't resist sharing her crazy passed out expression!  :P

Happy New Year 2014

My New Year's Eve was spent at Blush with lots of great friends.  I was actually super busy having fun so I only got a couple pictures.  Foxie (my roommate), Nicki (girlfriend, Bunny, Beth, & Ben were all there and celebrating with us.  It was probably the warmest New Year's Eve in Denver I've experienced since I moved here. ^_^

 Me & Nicki

I love this picture! ^_^

Again this just makes me smile.

So This New Year's was actually really fun and nothing bad happened.  It's been a long time since I've had a really good New Year's.  What a fantastic way to start the new year.
